We are looking for Community Mental Health Nurses or other registered health care professionals (e.g Occupational Therapist, Social Worker etc) to be part of our NEW Specialist Service for children and young people who have a learning disability, mental illness and/or challenging behaviour across Suffolk.Are you want passionate about the development and transformation of services for children and young people with a learning disability? Do you want to be part of developing a new service to be proud of? Do you have a flair for engaging positively with children and young people, their families and wider networks?We are seeking a flexible, committed, driven and innovative practitioners. You will have an interest and/or experience in this area along with a understanding of the particular barriers our service users and their families face. You will have knowledge and expertise of a range of interventions and their delivery.You will be passionate about supporting children and young people to maximise their potential and achieve their highest outcomes by remaining in their home, school, workplace and local community.You would be part of a skilled, experienced and supportive multidisciplinary community team. There is a real ethos of care for the young people seen and thorough understanding of their needs through team review, integrated multi agency working and supervision processes. Team development is valued and clinical team meetings will be strongly embedded in the culture of the team. You would receive regular supervision within the Trust supervision model.Our Child and Family Pathway provides mental health services for young people across the county. Our service consists of specialist community teams such as services for Children in Care, ADHD, Enhanced Child and Family service (0-14) and our Youth Pathways . It has good links with our Primary Mental Health Worker Service.It is an exciting time to join the service, as with all CAMHS teams we are undergoing transformation and development plans with other key agencies and development such as CYP-IAPT. We value multi-agency collaborative working and aspire to values from Future In Mind, such as service user participation and ensuring appropriate and evidence based services for the young people we see.Applicant Requirements:Please see the supplementary information attached to each of the job descriptions and specifications.We are able to consider this post on full time, part time or job share baisis.You will be based at Mariner House in Ipswich but this post requires you to work flexibly from our other satellite basis across East and West Suffolk.Applicants will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, proven ability to be self-motivated, able to work within a team as well as on their own initiative and committed to developing high quality standard of work.We will provide a full induction on recruitment.We have a genuine commitment to training and development with an extensive teaching matrix and protected time for managerial and clinical supervision supported by psychology input. Staff working within Learning Disability also have the opportunity to access the LD knowledge and skills framework.
This post attracts a recruitment premium of £3000. This is a one off payment with half paid on appointment and half paid after the completion of a satisfactory probation period (6 months). The premium is taxable. Please note that should you leave employment, or choose to move to an alternative post within the Trust that does not attract this recruitment premium, you will be required to reimburse all or some it, as follows: 100% of the value of the premium in the first 12 months; 50% of the value of the premium in the period 12 months to 2 years following appointment.

The Trust has now introduced a DBS Update Service which is a contractual requirement. You need to subscribe when you have applied for your DBS clearance and there is a time limit to subscribe of 19 days after receipt of your DBS disclosure. Please ensure that this is completed within the set time scale.
This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
