Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust has secured investment to develop evidence based specialist Early Intervention in Psychosis Services. This will be a Suffolk wide, locality based service delivering NICE approved interventions to service users experiencing  first episode psychosis.

The model of care will focus around social recovery, vocational work, physical health care, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Family Therapy. You will be part of the development of this service as it grows towards becoming an experienced multi-disciplinary team in providing a comprehensive Early Intervention Service.

The Band 4 vacancy will hold some supervision elements as the team grows to include Band 3 Support Workers. Essential qualifications are Foundation degree in health and social care / mental health or apprenticeship in Health and social care. 

The main element of this role will involve taking part in assessments, planning and delivering person centered interventions, social recovery practice in conjunction with a registered practitioner: liaison with a range of organizations to promote Early Intervention guildelines and recovery; working with carers to ensure that their needs are met under the Care Act and offering them support and making necessary funding applications if this is deemed appropriate.  A good knowledge base on key pieces of legislation and polices is essential and a value base that is holistic and anti-discriminatory.   

Experience of working with service users who experience psychosis will be of benefit. You will have access to clinical supervision and the opportunity to undertake the appropriate training. Accurate and effective note keeping is required and close collaboration and communication with the MDT.

We are looking for well-rounded and experienced practitioners  who must have a warm and friendly disposition and have very good communication and interpersonal skills. You must be a team player, be confident and motivated as well as being flexible and able to show initiative. You must be robust and resourceful and willing to work in an environment which will sometimes be demanding and challenging. You will be committed to the delivery of Early Intervention Services and have a passion for recovery focused work.
