We are pleased to announce we are seeking to recruit to a Consultant Psychiatrist post in the Central Locality Acute Services in the Central Norfolk Locality of Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust (NSFT).

Quality of living for staff working in Norfolk and Suffolk is high with areas of outstanding beauty and access to the culture and charm of these counties.

The Trust has a strong educational reputation for teaching of medical students and training of psychiatrists with a well-established training programme for junior and senior trainees. The successful candidate would be expected to support the ongoing development of research, teaching and training within their post and across the Trust.

NSFT is committed to Service User and Carer involvement in the design and review of Service provision. The successful candidate would be expected to hold this principle in the centre of their work ethic.

The post requires an exemplary clinical leader who will support the delivery of high quality and safe patient care through effective multidisciplinary and multiagency working. The post requires a highly skilled clinician who is flexible, adaptable and resilient who will actively participate in continuing to develop our services.

The post is based in Thurne Ward, Hellesdon Hospital, Norwich. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an established team within our Acute Services. The Acute Assessment Unit opened in spring 2015 and forms part of the acute care pathway that we have developed in our Acute Services

The unit consists of 15 beds, and acts as the assessment area to triage all patients who may require hospital admission for treatment, or for input from our Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHT). The unit admits patients for 3- 7 days to allow for full assessment and identification of the appropriate care pathway for each patient. This may be for example discharge with acute care delivered at home by our CRHT, and/or care delivered by Community Mental Health teams, GPs and other partners, or admission to an acute in-patient treatment setting.

We are seeking to employ a flexible, resilient candidate with outstanding clinical and leadership skills to be part of and continue to drive forward this team. The successful candidate will be a key driver in the ongoing success of the team.

This appointment represents a significant personal and professional development opportunity for the right candidate.

A £20,000 recruitment premia is available for the right candidate*.

Interviews are due to take place on 3rd December 2018.
