Specialty Doctor Psychiatry for Women’s secure pathway Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. Applications are invited to apply for a position (1 WTE) working in the female secure inpatient service based in Norwich. This is an opportunity to join the service at a time of significant development. The unit has recently moved to offer a blended level of secure care for women who traditionally would have required low or medium security. There are opportunities to further develop a fully integrated pathway for women within Forensic Services. The unit forms part of the Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust Forensic services, which has 82 beds providing male and female medium and low secure beds. Services are also provided to local courts, prisons and criminal justice partners. There will be opportunity to experience different parts of the service for interested applicants. The post is recognised for core and higher training and there is opportunity for teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level. This is an exciting time to join the service as it completes a significant transformation programme and looks to becoming involved in New Care Models across the Eastern region. You will join an existing group of 6 Consultants and other specialty grade doctors.
The post holder must be registered with the GMC and possess a license to practice. Experience within secure services is desirable, although not essential.

The Trust has now introduced a DBS Update Service which is a contractual requirement. You need to subscribe when you have applied for your DBS clearance and there is a time limit to subscribe of 19 days after receipt of your DBS disclosure. Please ensure that this is completed within the set time scale.
This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
