The Mental Health Liaison Service (MHLS) is a Core 24 liaison team that aspires to clinical, teaching and research excellence and has applied for PLAN accreditation. We are a dynamic, rapidly developing and evolving service covering all ages over 16 years in a 1254-bed busy general hospital dealing with over 500 referrals per month.

The MHLS is the interface between physical and mental health working within the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) and the wider Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust. Our multidisciplinary team is made up of a wide range of professional expertise and skills with a vigorous culture of collaborative working. This provides robust support in decision making; internal education and training; and assistance in your professional development.

We are looking for a highly motivated, forward thinking individual who wants to be part of creating excellence; and who thrives on working in a stimulating, high-pressured, strongly supported environment.

Due to the exciting expansion of the team we have a unique opportunity to offer a Band 6 Mental Health Nurse position as a key person in our service.

You will be part of an effective mutually supportive clinical team, undertaking high complexity assessments with patients in the NNUH with an organic or possible organic presentation. The post will have strong support from an established management team, Band 4 Assistant Practitioners, Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrists and Admin team.

Your role would require you to have core competencies across all mental health presentations and particularly those that present in the older population. Within this role you will have the opportunity to expand your skills further; be part of innovation, teaching and research; visit other Liaison services and conferences.

We offer flexible working within the limits of the organic service need which is currently commissioned for a Monday to Friday service.
