We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.
We have an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative partnership between Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, Norfolk Community Health & Care and Norfolk County Council and experience working for all 3 employers.
The Apprentice will work under close supervision and will be expected to achieve competencies over a 13 month period to build a portfolio of evidence for apprenticeship accreditation. Under direction of the nursing team you will be expected to work with all members of the multidisciplinary team, to contribute to the provision of the highest standards of patient care. You will accurately and promptly carry out instructions of the qualified staff member who is professionally accountable for delivery of care. Core duties are specified within the Trusts Approved Job Description.
You will be enrolled with a local training provider and will be required to complete your Level 2 HealthCare Support Worker (HCSW) Apprenticeship Standard within the duration of the placement.
All applicants must be:
- Aged 16+- Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years- Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Good general standard of education- 4 GCSEs at Grade D/Level 3 or above (or equivalent) - Good standard of literacy and numeracy- Good communication and interpersonal skills- Good IT skills

The Trust has now introduced a DBS Update Service which is a contractual requirement. You need to subscribe when you have applied for your DBS clearance and there is a time limit to subscribe of 19 days after receipt of your DBS disclosure. Please ensure that this is completed within the set time scale.
This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
