Our Acute Services in Norwich is seeking applicants for a Specialty doctor to work within our service. This opportunity specifically relates to Thurne Ward, our 15 bed short stay assessment unit.

Thurne ward provides care for patients in periods of acute psychiatric illness, with intensive medical and nursing input, as well as  from other specialties (occupational therapy, psychology, pharmacy, physical health nursing. The unit offers comprehensive assessment of patients, a thorough review of treatments, starting new treatments or modifying existing treatments, and brief interventions (such as short-term support, structured activities, brief psychological therapies).

NSFT is the main provider of specialist mental health, psychological therapies and learning disability services for the counties of Norfolk and Suffolk, serving a population of 1.6 million, across seven CCGs, with an annual turnover of £220m.

 

The post holder must be registered with the GMC, possess a license to practice, have S12 Approval and three years or equivalent medical experience which should include experience in the diagnosis and treatment of complex mental illness.
