NSFT Secure Services have a nine month fixed term vacancy for a Deputy Matron 37.5 hours per week. Secondment from other positions would be welcomed, agreement of current manager would be required.

This is a wonderful development opportunity for existing Band 6 or Band 7 clinicians who wish to develop their clinical experience and practice enhance their professional development. Although the role of the matron can be challenging and complex at times, it also brings huge rewards for both supporting and influencing quality assurance and improvement, working alongside clinical teams, service lines and forging strong links and engagement with other stakeholders.

As Deputy Matron you will support the Matron and clinical teams within your service to deliver high quality, safe care, ensuring that they meet both local and national requirements in relation
to high quality care based on the three fundamentals of quality:

Patient safety
Patient experience
Clinical effectiveness

The Deputy Matron is seen as a clinical leadership post and you will be expected to demonstrate the qualities and skills associated with leadership roles and be accountable for supporting Matron and services to meet essential standards of care as outlined by the CQC as well as agreed local and national quality standards.

A key outcome of the role is to support teams to embed and work to the systems and processes in place established by Matron to deliver local governance and provide evidence and assurance to the locality manager on key quality standards.

This post is open to nursing and/or registered health care professional.
