Are you a Mental Health Nurse who has ever been interested in working directly with the police?
Are you energetic, highly motivated and enjoy working directly with service users? Can you cope well in a crisis?
If this is for you, you will be providing a comprehensive mental health screening and advice service to officers dealing with incidents and contacts via telephone or other means from the public, police officers and other agencies where mental health is a potential contributory factor. You will have access to information on health and police recording systems to inform their professional judgements and guidance provided.
You will also play a vital role in targeting the dispatch of the police triage car to incidents that require a face-to-face response from a mental health practitioner. One aim is to develop strong professional networks with partner agencies across the police, health and social care sectors to support multi-agency approaches to the provision of services for people repeatedly presenting in mental health crises.
Exemplary communication skills are essential and the ability to work decisively in making good professional decisions and offering guidance to others.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development of this new and exciting service through continuous evaluation.
You will be based in the beautiful town of Ipswich. With a buzzing town centre, and nightlife as well as being an ideal commuter town for London, Colchester or Norwich, with great public transport and a central Train station.

Please ensure that this is completed within the set time scale.
This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
