Do you have a true passion for co-ordinating and delivering person-centred Occupational Therapy within a rehabilitation mental health setting?

Would you value the opportunity to work holistically with service users, empowering them to achieve their occupational goals?

Do you have the skills to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team?

Are you a role model for clinical practice and are able to support others?

If you have said yes to each of these questions then we may have the ideal Occupational Therapy role for you, read on …

We, the team at Suffolk Rehabilitation and Recovery service, Ipswich, are looking for someone to join us. As well as your key qualification and registration we are looking for you to have the accredited ability to complete comprehensive OT assessments.  Experience in working in mental health and as part of an effective multi-disciplinary team will also be essential.

From working closely with patients, carers and staff you will have well developed communication skills, the ability to work in group settings and a proven ability manage your own caseload, priorities and timescales. Being a practiced reflective practitioner, you will support colleagues and students to develop their strengths and maintain their learning and CPD.

We can offer you in return an opportunity to work with a diverse group of service users, a supportive team of dedicated staff operating in the only mental health rehabilitation ward within Suffolk. We are able to offer newly qualified staff a preceptorship package, access to the newly registered academy as well as support from a Senior Occupational Therapist. We are proud of our involvement in the Triangle of Care initiative and have close links with service user and carer representatives, involving them on developing information leaflets, patient community meetings and interviewing prospective staff.  We offer a Trust wide OT peer support group and utilise the MOHO model of practice.
