We have exciting opportunities for a motivated and enthusiastic, Band 6, Mental Health Nurse/Occupational Therapist/Social Worker to join the newly formed East Suffolk Crisis Response Team. The team is based in Woodlands on the Ipswich Hospital site.
The service operates 24/7, is age inclusive and provides an emergency, 4 hour response, to people in East Suffolk who are presenting in a mental health crisis. The service provides community based psycho-social assessments, safe management plans and onward referral; working collaboratively with family and carers . They also provide a telephone crisis line for people already under our local mental health services. You will be an excellent communicator, self-motivating and committed to delivering high quality standards of care. You will be a confident and experienced practitioner with excellent assessment skills and the ability to formulate clinical decisions and management plans and act on them quickly. We are looking for a flexible ‘can do’ attitude, with a demonstration of curiosity and creativity and a willingness and drive to build good working relationships with other teams, services and agencies. You will have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience, including recent experience in acute mental health and be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of crisis intervention. The successful candidate will be key in the efficient delivery of the team; in improving response and management of referrals; in helping the team meet their key performance indicators and be proactive in helping explore and develop partnerships and pathways to improve patient experience and outcome. As this service operates a 24/7; you will be required to work shifts. We will provide a full induction and have a genuine commitment to training and development. The Trust has now introduced a DBS Update Service which is a contractual requirement. You need to subscribe when you have applied for your DBS clearance and there is a time limit to subscribe of 19 days after receipt of your DBS disclosure. Please ensure that this is completed within the set time scale.
This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
