Exciting developments are happening in Suffolk Children and Young People’s Mental Health services.
From spring 2018, as part of the Suffolk Transformation Plan for Children, the multi-agency Suffolk Emotional Wellbeing Hub will be a first point of contact, advice and referral for families, children and young people up to the age of 25.
Our previous Access and Assessment service for children and young people will no longer be in place and referrals will be received directly into clinical teams from the Hub.

We are looking to recruit a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner in the 0-14 Team Child & Family team, based at Ipswich IDT, Ipswich.
You will be able to demonstrate a warm, compassionate and needs led approach to working with our service users and their families. You will ideally have experience in working with children and young people, however we would also welcome applications from qualified practitioners who have a strong desire to work in this field and who wish to transfer into a new area of practice.
In this role you will deliver comprehensive assessment and high quality interventions through evidence based practice. You will be joining an enthusiastic and multi-disciplinary team who meet at least weekly for clinical reflection and review. There is regular and robust supervision with an emphasis on reflective practice and development, with opportunities for further training.
You will have the opportunity to build links with local services for young people, working with a multi-agency approach to delivering care. Working alongside other agencies you will be expected to comprehensively assess mental health need, thoroughly risk assess and formulate safe risk management, within the Care Programme Approach.
It is an exciting time to join the service. As with all CAMHS teams, we are undergoing transformation and development plans with other key agencies and developments such as CYP-IAPT. We value multi-agency collaborative working and aspire to values from Future In Mind, such as service user participation and ensuring appropriate and evidence based services for the young people we see.

This update service is an annual subscription at a cost of £13 to you. This will enable the Trust to have instant online access to your DBS record, with your consent, and so will remove the need for you to have to apply for this repeat check again.
