An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) or person working towards this qualification, to join our busy multi-disciplinary team here at the Coastal Integrated Delivery Team, Ipswich, Suffolk.

Our Community Mental Health Team has a strong focus on recovery and aims to enable and empower people to reach their potential and to live fulfilling lives through providing recovery focused services that supports the individual and their carers.

You will be part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering mental health care services in our community patch, serving service users from fifteen primary care surgeries in coastal East Suffolk.

The NMP post-holder will be an autonomous clinical practitioner with demonstrable, proactive clinical leadership skills. They will proactively support the psychiatrists and other clinicians in the Adult and Enhanced Community pathways of the team to triage, assess, prescribe and manage a range of related tasks.

You will be expected to manage a small caseload, proactively manage long term conditions and prescribe within their own sphere of competence. In addition the role will involve taking a lead with the Trusts Physical Health Strategy as well as supervising a small group of clinicians.  

Experience of working with patients living with severe and enduring mental health issues and with diverse needs, and a good knowledge of substance misuse will be an advantage to the team.

Excellent written and verbal skills are required and previous experience of working in mental health is desirable. You will be expected to undertake safeguarding training (Children and Adults) appropriate to their role and adhere to policies and procedures relevant to NSFT.

By joining the friendly, hardworking and committed Coastal IDT you will receive ongoing training and regular monthly management and clinical supervision from psychiatrists and other professionals within the team.
